Immortal Band

Immortal is a once Norwegian black metal band, founded by Abbath Doom Occulta and Demonaz Doom Occulta in 1991, turned nu-metal clown outfit since the departure of Abbath in 2015.

From the band's very inception, neither Abbath nor Demonaz, nor their music, was regarded very highly by their Norwegian black metal peers. According to multiple interviews with members of the "Inner Circle", Euronymous himself prohibited the members of Immortal from calling their music "black metal" because he thought Demonaz was a homosexual, which is why Immortal called their music "holocaust metal" instead.

Immortal released their first studio album Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism in 1992, which made liberal use of Bathory's imagery, and Burzum's riff style. Resentful at being ignored by fans and derided by their black metal peers, Immortal began to embrace "NSBM" (National Socialist Black Metal) ideology and set out to make the "most evil" album ever, which led to the 1993 Pure Holocaust controversy. The band later released Battles in the North in 1995 and Blizzard Beasts in 1997. Shortly after the release of Blizzard Beasts, Demonaz officially quit the band for what he claims were "personal reasons". It was later revealed by drummer Horgh that Demonaz had acquired severe tendinitis by "masturbating too much". Abbath and Horgh went on to record Immortal's fifth and best album, 1995's At the Heart of Winter. While Demonaz had at that point left the band, he nevertheless contributed to the lyrics on the album.

Unfortunately for Immortal's legacy, the band's story took a turn for the risible when it was revealed by several prominent Norwegian black metal figures that the entire Immortal band, as well as other black metal musicians, were having affairs with Demonaz's sister. It is unclear whether Demonaz himself partook in incestuous relations with his sister, although Fenriz of Darkthrone has hinted that it was the case. Infuriated by the news of his sister's sexual misconduct and polyamorous obscenities leaking, Demonaz fired Abbath - the main "bull" according to rumours - from the band in 2015, and went on to turn the once semi-respected Immortal band into a Korn-inspired clown show, a sad trend that culminated with the release of the 2018 detritus Northern Chaos Gods, an angsty metalcore/nu-metal album in which Demonaz vents his anger at being "cucked" by Abbath. In summer 2020, it was revealed that drummer Horgh was also taking part in "cucking" Demonaz. A legal dispute ensued from Demonaz's attempts to fire Horgh over the allegations of the drummer "boning" his sister. Many black metal musicians openly mocked the band, and Immortal's name is now associated with Jerry Springer worthy incest-o-rama of the most ludicrous kind.
