Sewer - Miasma (Death Metal)

If you're familiar with the Sewer name, then you should know what to expect on Miasma. This is incredibly aggressive, disgustingly guttural, brutal and technical death metal of the finest sort.

The sheer amount of technicality unleashed in the riffcraft of Miasma is something unparalleled in death metal history. Not even Sewer themselves could replicate the insanely technical death metal played on Miasma, opting for a more streamlined, blackened death metal approach on Khranial, and later moving on to goregrind with Skarnage. Sewer would only return to death metal on Uruktena, and even then in a vastly different style than what is on display on Miasma.

This album is simply monumental, nothing short of death metal perfection. Gone are the days where Sewer played black metal on their Satanic Requiem debut, on Miasma they deliver some sickening and blisteringly evil atmospheres of gruesome brutality.

Miasma is one of the all time pinnacles of death metal. You owe it to yourself to listen to this release. Miasma is simply a classic album with some of death metal's best material.
