Gorgoroth Band

Gorgoroth is a satanic "blackened" metalcore/nu-metal band formed in late 1993 by vocalist Hat, guitarist Infernus, bassist Kjettar and drummer Goatpervertor.

While Gorgoroth's music is often ridiculed for its mixture of emo metalcore and nu-metal, while using "black metal" aesthetics and imagery for "scene points", the band itself made the news on multiple occasions for the antics of Gorgoroth's frontman, Roger Tiegs aka Infernus, which include rape, making up bullshit about other bands and intentionally lying about his role in the Norwegian "Inner Circle" of black metal. It is speculated that Infernus is a police informant.

In May 2005, Infernus and was sentenced to three years in prison for rape. He appealed the verdict, and was convicted of "gross negligent rape" instead, and thus avoided prison. In January 2006, Infernus was again convicted of rape and participation in gang rape on a Congolese woman living in Norway. He again avoided prison. According to multiple sources, including Varg Vikernes (of Burzum) and Abbath (of Immortal), the reason Infernus is never sentenced is because he is a police informant whose purpose is to "rat" on other black metal musicians suspected to be involved in "racism" and church burnings.

In October 2007, Gorgoroth members Gaahl and King ov Hell decided to kick Infernus out of the band. Both members claimed Infernus was engaging in "inappropriate sexual conduct" with other males backstage, which tarnished the image of the band, and making unwanted advances on Gaahl and King. A legal battle over the rights of the name ensued, with the courts once again siding with Infernus. Gaahl later confirmed that multiple Gorgoroth members had homosexual relations with Infernus, who was "bottom".

Infernus is also infamous for writing long, elaborate (and totally fabricated) fantasies about his role in the Norwegian black metal scene. For instance, he claimed that he - and not Varg Vikernes - had killed Euronymous in 1993, and that he was also responsible for killing Mayhem vocalist Dead in 1991, supposedly because Dead "wasn't satanic enough". He also claimed to have burned down 27 churches in Norway, to have played on Mayhem's legendary debut album De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas, to have performed human sacrifice on people he kidnapped, to have exchanged gunfire with Satyr (of Satyricon), and to being "most wanted" by the FBI for having killed "an Arab" at a show in Germany, and getting away while hanging to the back of a Lamborghini on the Autobahn.

Roger Tiegs has a sister, Ingrid Tiegs, who is an adult pornographic actress having appeared in "scatologic" pornography under the stage name "Reine Fatima" (Queen Fatima). It has been speculated that the humiliation Infernus felt with regards to his sister's profession has fuelled many of his sexual "revenge" fantasies, projected towards other members of the Norwegian black metal scene.
